  Course Description:

This is a self-contained course for students not majoring in the physical sciences.  It is designed for students who would like to develop a deeper understanding of space flight and solar-system exploration.  Topics covered include an overview of the solar system and planetary orbits, gravitation and mechanics, the history of space flight, principals of space flight, the Moon landings, interplanetary trajectories, electromagnetic phenomena, remote sensing, crewed missions to Mars, and life in the Universe.  This course forms a sequence with either Astronomy 0088, Astronomy 0089, Physics 0081, or Physics 0089.
